A pro-abortion activist has been arrested and charged with second-degree assault after a brutal, on-camera attack on a pro-life activist and journalist during a street interview.

Earlier in April, 23-year-old pro-lifer Savannah Craven Antao conducted a “man on the street-style interview” about abortion and Planned Parenthood with 30-year-old pro-abortion Brianna J. Rivers. (Related: Pro-abortion terrorists violently attack pro-life groups, Biden White House says nothing.)

However, the conversation quickly escalated into a heated debate before turning violent.

Video footage shows Rivers initially engaging in discussion before suddenly striking Antao multiple times in the face. “You don’t understand the magnitude of having a child,” Rivers argued moments before launching the assault.

Antao, who had earlier challenged Rivers’ stance on abortion, including remarks about children in foster care, responded, “I’m not the one who admitted they would be okay with killing babies in foster care and killing children that have been abused.”

Rivers abruptly stopped debating and unleashed a flurry of punches, leaving Antao with significant facial injuries that required medical attention, including stitches. Before fleeing the scene, Rivers hurled obscenities at Antao’s husband, who was filming the encounter.

Fortunately, Rivers was also arraigned on April 10, Thursday afternoon. If convicted, she could face serious legal consequences for the assault. Authorities are also investigating whether this attack was part of a broader pattern of aggression against pro-life advocates.

“Just got word from detectives that Brianna J. Rivers was arrested! God is good!” Antao posted on Instagram following the arrest, using the hashtags #BlueLivesMatter, #JusticeIsServed and #ThankYouGod.

Rivers issues public apology, but defends her actions

Rivers has openly acknowledged the incident on Facebook, issuing a partial apology while defending her actions.

“To Savannah, I sincerely apologize, but cannot sit around and allow you to continue pushing this one-sided narrative. I understand hands being put on someone is never the answer, but throwing rocks and hiding hands is worse,” Rivers wrote on Facebook.

“She knows the truth and she needs to release the footage in its entirety. Savannah is a professional antagonist not a ‘reporter’ and the truth will be told,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, Antao, a longtime pro-life advocate, described Rivers in a separate interview the next day as “very passionate” about abortion rights, had earlier suggested that children in foster care could be killed – a claim Antao repeated before the physical altercation occurred.

“She knew about Planned Parenthood. She totally agreed with me that abortion kills a baby. She knew how the procedure worked,”Antao said.
